HISTORY
Spirit of Life Church began as a bible study before launching its first service in Martinsville, Indiana, on Sunday,
October 1, 1997.
Shortly after the pioneering group began to meet, Pastor Adam Varnell was hired as SLC's first senior pastor and served in that role for many years. Both he and his wife Beth offer Biblical-counselling and have a special place in their heart to help others overcome tragedy and loss.
Through the years, SLC has transitioned in location, holding services in a plaza strip mall, a lumber company, and then a catering facility. SLC has enjoyed their current location since July 2004.
Pastor Kenny Collier transitioned to Lead Pastor in August of 2022, after serving as Associate Pastor for several years previous alongside his wife Kindel who leads the worship team at SLC. Both are passionate to see Jesus exalted above all else at SLC and center their lives and ministries around the person of Jesus.
Pastor Amy O'Neal, has served in student ministries for many years and locations, and coordinates the children's ministry and youth ministry at SLC. She enjoys creative community projects that remind others to experience Jesus in fresh ways.
Shelley Suter has been with Spirit of Life Church since the very beginning and is our front office secretary. She also serves as the S.A.L.T. fellowship event coordinator.

- The Hospitality Ministry is led by Lisa Sparks. Lisa joyfully leads her team as they meet needs in our congregation and serve at SLC events that bless our community.
- The Outreach Ministry is led by Caroline Millard. Caroline and her husband Charlie welcome new community members and offer prayer and friendship to those looking for further their walk with Jesus.
- The Usher Ministry is led by Mike and Kathy Curtis. Mike and Kathy faithfully facilitate the Sunday morning logistics of welcoming people into SLC and creating a safe and secure environment we all enjoy.
